Follow-up Comment #2, task #3373 (project admin):
iShare as the name project implied will be a share suite, so a collaborative
suite. This suite is a server suit and so will be publish for client's based
only on standards requirement : RFC, protocol, and so on. May be in the
future we will able to proposed some evolutions of standards but this is not
a goal for first release.
All the code will be written in C code for portability reason, and system
inter-operability. Since we are at the beginning of the project (nothing
really work and noting is really clear), we plan to use a configuration file
for daemon that use xml langage. So we plan to use libxml2 (from GNOME) (and
we use it inside the first prototype). We don't plan to use other tools yet.
For now , only GPLed project.
This project (iShare) want to be GPLed 2 program so will basicaly integrated
only GPL compatible code.
The suite will be organize (in the near future) as a DAV server (this is the
goal), a LDAP server too as some frontend (and may be others like imap) to
form a collaborative suite accessible from clients threaw wellknown
interfaces.
The backend layer are not really defined yet but will be in a near future
