Agape is a Content Managing System, written in XHTML, PHP 5, CSS and some
Javascript, that uses MySQL (versions 3 and up) or PostgreSQL to store its
data, using the PDO system. Its basic functions include all the basic
elements of a CMS : memberspace (with profiles, groups, PM's...), a
newsletter, articles, a glossary (which creates hyperlinks on the fly,
linking to a pop-up defining the word), polls, search, upload, a guestbook,
and statistics. RSS feeds will be used for a lot of pages. It will be
internationalized using gettext. For messages and other texts, there will be
a simplified markup language (like BBCode), smilies, global variables, and
some time in the future, LaTeX.
Later, it will contain a forum and a wiki. We are also planning on releasing
a jabber client module.
The administration will have to be complete, with a rank system. There is an
installation script.
The aim is to make a CMS very easy to use for the users, with large
possibilities of customization.

For the next version, we have started to recode from scratch : the last
versions were a draft and now we want use a better way for a lot of sides :
PDO for the databse, gettext, a template system (including cache)...
