==== Description: ====
I am planning on creating a system "merge" monitor for the Gentoo GNU/linux
operating system. It will be 100% libre software under the GPL3.

Gentoo is a popular source based disto, and there is a wealth of information
passing through the back-end of the Portage packaging manager which standard
*nix tools can't fully elucidate. Gentoo does not have an easy tool to
display this to the user.

I plan to write an ncurses based monitor which can display compile progress
on parallel compiles, queued packages, parallel fetch status, estimated
compile completion time using a Gentoo database, etc.

I don't have much code yet, as I just started the project (yesterday!), but I
want to get the code out soon so that the Gentoo community can help decide the
exact implementation.

Again, this will be a 100% free, collaborative project, always.

Thank you for this wonderful website, giving people like me the chance to
give back to the community!

==== Other Software Required: ====
Gentoo's Portage package manager Python modules (GPL 2)
