==== Description: ====
Private Life is a project to enhance the privacy features in the Second Life
viewer. The current implementation is based on the Emerald Viewer,
http://modularsystems.sl/ , which is itself based on the Linden Lab viewer
source base. The viewer is compatible with the OpenSim virtual world servers
as well as the proprietary servers operated by Linden Lab. The source for the
current version is currently available only as diffs against the Emerald
source because I do not have a good open source hosting platform yet. Please
email me if you would like to see the diffs. All new code is lGPL 2.1. The
majority of the source is available from http://modularsystems.sl/
==== Other Software Required: ====
libotr - a slightly customized version of libotr,
http://www.cypherpunks.ca/otr/ , which is gpl 2.1, is used. The project
includes the modified source for libotr.
==== Other Comments: ====
Voice is an optional feature provided by other service providers and depends
on a proprietary closed source library provided free of charge for
GNU/Linux/BSD, Mac, and Microsoft operating systems.
This is a large existing system, the many files which make it up are licensed
under a number of different OSS licenses. The majority are GPL with some kind
of 'escape clause' put in for Linden Lab. Ask your lawyer, it's GPL as far as
I am concerned.
