Xereshk is a light-weight web-based proxy for circumventing censorship which
is written entirely in PHP and standard JavaScript; It uses the hosting
server's outbound internet access to retrieve content or upload content. It
currently supports HTTP and partially FTP.
Xereshk is intended to be compatible with Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, Google Reader,
blogger.com, Google Images, Google Videos, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and
Friendfeed.

Advantages:
Aidin Sabetian constantly surveys people in censored countries and tunnels to
machines residing in such countries (e.g. The Middle East) to see how things
are; and thus does not make common mistakes such as implementing solely
Base64 or Rot13 to encode the URL. Xereshk's URL pattern is process-intensive
to detect (e.g. Xereshk breaks the URL into several parts and captures the
parts in different variables and concatenates them to get a valid encoded URL
to be decoded later.
