Follow-up Comment #2, task #7143 (project admin):

Dear Philippe Roy,

After some reflections with myself I must cancel the ongoing process of
validation of my project at GNA.org .
In simple words : I don't want a project at GNA.org anymore.

Last night I started realising that my game is only intended to be a night
time hobby for myself, and also a one person affair (myself), so registration
at a site like GNA.org is not strictly necessary, as I guess that's more
appropriate for people working in groups. And more important : I foresee a
lot of difficulties in the realm of the so called "free software", which is
certainly not the realm of hobbyists, but merely the realm of a lot of young
people looking for a (paid !) job, to which free software is very destructive
in my view !

So to cut matters short, you can forget and cancel my request for a project
at GNA.org, and I will seek publishing possibilities elsewhere, probably my
homepage.

To repeat again : I am sorry that I only just now started realising all sorts
of potential problems, and that I did not consider legal issues earlier in
time. But my excuse might be that the politics of commercial and
non-commercial software are a very complicated and intrigate matter : for
example : for me it is difficult to understand that in a GPL file, one
combines a copyright and GPL notice. To me, this makes no sense, as copyright
is copyright and GPL is GPL, and like water and fire, these cannot be
combined. I myself see too many programmers who first try to make a living
with a self created type of software, and when they fail to make profit, and
their business closes down, they start to open source their software, and try
to become an open source guru. This is to my opinion very misleading, and only
a sign of a very immature software market, where there lies a long road to a
world where far more young people can make a living with the creation of
software. As an older hobbyist, and a disabled man who does not need to
generate income anymore, I should not disturb this fragile upcoming economic
process, and this is the deeper reason why I want to cancel my request for a
project at GNA.org .

Excuses for my bad english, as I'm a dutchman, but I hope I have made my
message clear to you. And further excuses that I did not consider legal
issues earlier, as that's my own responsibility.

Best wishes, and good luck with GNA.org !

P.S. : In my simple game I use software like Soya 3D, which is hosted at
GNA.org . After your suggestions about legal issues, it is maybe time to take
another course, which might be using more closed software. Thank you for your
warnings !
