==== Description: ====
EFDM is a prototype implementing an European forestry
dynamics model (EFDM) for the policy analysis based on
- a new scientific methodology and corresponding best practices for projecting
forestry dynamics based on probabilities of different
natural processes and forest management under different socio-economic and
policy scenarios,
- a generic, free and open source matrix simulation software implementing the
alternative scenarios in terms of forest development,
- suitable to be used with national data on modelling units and their
management reflecting surrounding operation environment, especially the
impacts of policy changes.

The package is implemented as a set of GNU R scripts, available for review
at:

http://forest.jrc.ec.europa.eu/abc34kmWio0096756Xvccjrc345/EFDM.tar.gz

==== Other Software Required: ====
Dependencies:

- GNU R

- GNU R "abind" package
(http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/abind/index.html )

- GNU R "RODBC" package
(http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/RODBC/index.html )

==== Other Comments: ====

This project has been generated under the terms of the EUPLv1.1 (official
license for this project).
The GNU R library "abind"
(http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/abind/index.html ) is required. The
core file uses it and is licensed under EUPLv1.1.

However, some files include as library also the GNU R "RODBC" package
(http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/RODBC/index.html ). This package
appears as dual licensed under GNU GPLv2 and GNU GPLv3.

Art. 5 of EUPLv1.1 enables GNU GPLv2 as "Compatible Licence" (see also the
EUPL licence appendix). This way, my understanding is that the project as a
whole should be relicensed as a GNU GPLv2 covered work. This is also
corroborated by the EUPLv1.1 official guidelines
(http://ec.europa.eu/idabc/servlets/Doc5b9a.pdf?id=32429 p.9).

The project files are organised in two subfolders of the src/ directory. While
the whole package is GNU GPLv2 covered, the core file in src/core/ is licensed
under EUPLv1.1, which would require this license to be included in that
subfolder.
