Frank: Try getting in touch with the Debian developers in the intent-to-package report: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=509768 I'm not too familiar with the Debian packaging process, but since you already provide a .deb package, hopefully it shouldn't be hard to get it into Debian. From there, it will eventually be imported into Ubuntu.
