University of California Los Angeles. The Department of Geography invites 
applications for a
full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Population 
Geography. We
seek an outstanding scholar with demonstrated research expertise in one or more 
of the following
areas: immigration, mobility, race, labor, inequality, and spatial demography. 
Applicants with a
strong background in quantitative methods, including spatial statistics and 
GIS, are especially
encouraged to apply. UCLA hosts a strong cluster of demographers affiliated 
with the UCLA
California Center for Population Research (www.ccpr.ucla.edu) and the 
California Census
Research Data Center (www.ccrdc.ucla.edu).
The appointment will begin July, 2011. A PhD in Geography or closely related 
field is required
