We
are pleased to issue a Call for Papers for the 2014 Southern Regional Science
Association Conference
in San Antonio, Texas. We will meet at the San Antonio Marriot Plaza from
Thursday, March 27 through Saturday March 29. The conference rate of $165+tax
per night is available
from Wednesday, March 26 through Sunday, March 30, 2014.
This
year’s conference will feature presentations by:
Michael
Lahr: "Up-and-Coming
Regional Economic Management: Square Dancing with the Stars to Enhance Dynamic
Hirschman Linkages?"
James
LeSage: “What Regional Scientists Need to Know about Spatial Econometrics”
Dan
Rickman: “Assessing Regional Environmental Quality: A Call for Action in
Regional Science"
Included is a panel session for newer professionals entitled: “Publishing
in Regional Science: An Editorial
Roundtable” with Mark Burkey
and Michael Lahr (Review of Regional Science), Dan Rickman (Growth and
Change),Mark
Partridge (Journal of Regional Science), and Richard Cebula (Journal of
Regional Analysis and Policy)
To participate, please send an abstract to Program Chair
Steven Deller (University of Wisconsin-Madison) by going to the conference
website. After logging onto the
site, click on 2014 Annual Meeting of the Southern Regional Science
Association. Then click on Proposal Submission to begin the
submission process. Unless the paper is part of a special session, submit the
paper under the track General Papers. The deadline for submission of
abstracts is February
