This will be another Ahhnold vehicle and little respect will be shown to REH and his story line, I regret to say. It will be entertaining in a Hollywoodish sort of way, particularly with the new cgi visual effects. But expect a few scenes that will make you groan because of political correctness (Xenobia will probably be a co-fighter) or because of some special "new scene" added by the script writers.
About the best you can say is that similar respect (or lack thereof) is routinely given to any other author by Hollywood anyway (except perhaps for Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter, where the readership following was so strong the directors had to adhere closely to the storyline or risk public scandal). Compare the recent Spiderman to the original comic series (where's the development of the web fluid; what do you mean it just comes out of his arms?). Sadly to say, REH does not have the same "pull" in Hollywood.
