Hi all!
at the moment i'm testing some FS for our low coast filer,
is an dual P3 866MHz, ICP Vortex(64Bit PCI), Easyraid(HW-Raid,250GB),
512MB Ram with Suse 7.2, kernel 2.4.5 from kernel.org,
knfsd_patch, umount fix patch. now my I/O results with
bonnie++, file size 1GB, fsync() enabled !!!

Sequential Output:
        ReiserFS                ext2

per Chr: 11216 K/sec            12639 K/sec
Block:   24815 K/sec            26133 K/sec
rewrite: 9717  K/sec            9534  K/sec
Random Output:
per Chr: 10199 K/sec            11531 K/sec
block:   21830 K/sec            24025 K/sec
Seeks:   230 /sec               344   K/sec

default mkfs options !!
ext2:    Block size = 4096, inodes = 11272192, blocks = 22515089
reiser: Journal size 8192, Root block 8211

got great performance tests with bonnie++ cration tests,
small files;

only problem, is reiserfs real stable for an production
system ?? need no high performance, only stability, and
journaling, so i think i'll try GFS looks more stable,
XFS looks nice too, but i think its to new too, means some
little bugs,........ i dont know, lets test it, test it.....
