I could compile glibc as well. However, GCC did not apparently compile. Debian Sid's GCC 3.3 was the one I tried. It appeared to have stalled during some if its test cases, I'll post further details, if required, when I get home and if I have time to sit at the computer then. Thanks you Vladimir! -- mjt
