Hello!
I am writing to you, because reiserfsck has not solved my problem.
I tryed to boot normaly, but it stopped after hdparm and starting postfix. I
booted knoppix and tryed to mount my reiserfs partition. Doesn't work.
I used reiserfschk:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]/]# reiserfsck --rebuild-sb /dev/hda3
reiserfsck 3.6.18 (2003 www.namesys.com)
*************************************************************
** If you are using the latest reiserfsprogs and it fails **
** please email bug reports to [EMAIL PROTECTED], **
** providing as much information as possible -- your **
** hardware, kernel, patches, settings, all reiserfsck **
** messages (including version), the reiserfsck logfile, **
** check the syslog file for any related information. **
** If you would like advice on using this program, support **
** is available for $25 at www.namesys.com/support.html. **
*************************************************************
Will check superblock and rebuild it if needed
Will put log info to 'stdout'
Do you want to run this program?[N/Yes] (note need to type Yes if you do):Yes
bread: Cannot read the block (2): (Invalid argument).
reiserfs_open: bread failed reading block 2
bread: Cannot read the block (16): (Invalid argument).
reiserfs_open: bread failed reading block 16
reiserfs_open: the reiserfs superblock cannot be found on /dev/hda3.
what the version of ReiserFS do you use[1-4]
(1) 3.6.x
(2) >=3.5.9 (introduced in the middle of 1999) (if you use linux 2.2,
choose this one)
(3) < 3.5.9 converted to new format (don't choose if unsure)
(4) < 3.5.9 (this is very old format, don't choose if unsure)
(X) exit
1
Enter block size [4096]:
4096
reiserfs_create: can not create that small (0 blocks) filesystem
I am sure, that hda3 is a reiserfs:
output of cfdisk:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
hda1 Primre Linux ext3 41,13
hda2 Primre Linux swap 518,20
hda3 Primre Linux ReiserFS 19444,57
With "badblocks" i got a list of 17 badblocks:
104031366/ 19535040
104031448/ 19535040
10403145
10403146
10403147
104031488/ 19535040
10403149
10403150
10403151
10403152
10403153
10403154
10403155
104031566/ 19535040
104031577/ 19535040
104031588/ 19535040
104031599/ 19535040
I guess, the superblock is at this part of the harddisk.
The harddisk is hda: TOSHIBA MK2018GAP, ATA DISK drive, on the harddisk i use
reiserfsprogs 3.6.18; I was using the mm-sources 2.6.8.1 with a ssuspend2
patch for resuming my notebook. When you need more infos, i hope i can give
you them. When you have any ideas for rescueing the data files, i would like
to get a message!
Thanks in advance and keep up the good working!
