I don't know much about how ACLs are handled in resierfs, although I believe Hans Reiser has said before that the way that ACLs are handled in the current resierfs 3.x series is not the way he would most like them to be done, and when he gets around to doing a version for Reiser4, that he believes that there will be good functionality and better performance with them.
