Is more simple, for me, have a access to greek and latin christian text and relative grammatical instruments. The biblical hebrew is simple to study too, I have followed a course on it in a catholic Theological Institute.Coptic is a little far of general interest of a student.My interest, already, is focused on the coptic gnostic library discovered near Nah Hammadi. Actually i study sahidic on the Pumley grammar, because is the only serious grammar available in a language that i know.I finded usefull read and trascribe several time the interlinear version of Thomas Gospel of Grondin to familiarize myself whith the gnostic language and lexicon.I find that the Coptic Gnostic Library is important to spread ligth to the origin of Christianity, as the study of Elaine Pagels and other scholars have showed.I think that the position of Ireneo of Lions are respectable and comprehensible but extreme in some way. Apart of the extreme and inacceptable gnostic point ow wiew there is, in this text, a vision of a christian inner path based on the knowledge, similar to other oriental mysticism, that have some interest.Piero
