I'm using TaskWarrior as well and have this in my .local/share/task/hooks/on-add (and symlinked to on-modify):
https://gist.github.com/jspricke/10c51a496496d409072d7bb943df85d0It will manage a ~/.remind/todo.rem you can include in your ~/.reminders.
