Yeah, that's a problem. So I'd do OMITs without any MSG and have separate
REMs to actually output the holidays.
IMO, the small amount of redundancy caused by:
# In holidays.rem
OMIT 25 Dec
# In display_holidays.rem
REM 25 Dec MSG Christmas
is a small price to pay compared to the complexity of setting
variables, potentially breaking the Remind algorithm, etc. It's also
fewer (way fewer) lines of code.
