I've started integrating Remind with an ICAL-based calendar, and it occurred to me that it's a shame we lose metadata such as location and a longer description of events. So this release adds a new INFO clause to the REM command for preserving this additional information. Also, TkRemind now supports Location and Description meta-data. If you're writing an ICAL-to-Remind (or indeed, anything-to-Remind) converter or one that goes the other way, please take a look at this beta and see if the INFO feature meets your needs. If you've written a Remind back-end, this beta might be worth a look too if you want to add support for more metadata to your back-end. Release notes follow. Regards, Dianne. This is intended for storing additional metadata about an event, such as the location and a longer description. The intention is to make Remind <-> iCal conversions preserve as much information as possible. - NEW FEATURE: TkRemind: Add "Location" and "Description" fields when creating a reminder; these are converted to INFO clauses. Also support a popup window with the extra information when hovering over a reminder in the calendar display. - IMPROVEMENT: remind: Add the "\xAB" escape sequence for parsing quoted strings, where "AB" is a pair of hex digits. - NEW FUNCTION: remind: Add the escape() built-in function that converts problematic characters within a string to the \-escaped versions.
