Umm... yes?   Wouldn't this work?   REM MSG [myvar]%

You can structure your reminder files like this:

    ### setvar.rem ###

    # Do whatever calculations are needed...
    SET myvar some_complicated_expression

    ### reminders.rem ###
    DO setvar.rem
    # Your normal reminders go here

    ### printvar.rem
    DO setvar.rem
    REM MSG [myvar]%

To get your normal reminders:  remind reminders.rem
To get the value of myvar:     remind printvar.rem
