Good afternoon,

I've been using Remind for years and never looked back, but upgrading my debian to 13 made me jump to Remind 05.03.07 and (of course ;-)) it came with breaking changes.

I'm very lazy and had my .rem file including lines such as

2025/11/05@09:00 Meeting

but it seems that now I have to be more explicit and use

REM 2025/11/05@09:00 MSG Meeting

otherwise I get

echo '2025/11/05@09:00 Meeting' |remind  -
-stdin-(1): Unrecognized command; interpreting as REM

and

echo 'REM 2025/11/05@09:00 Meeting' |remind  -
-stdin-(1): Missing REM type; assuming MSG

Is there any way to get back to this "underspecified" syntax?

I've looked around but couldn't find an answer to this particular question, so I thought it wouldn't be inappropriate to ask the mailing-list :-)

Thanks!
Clément
