Ok, then I'll dive into Perl, scary... 

What are the exact columns that are shown?

(My idea is to somehow use conky to output a calendar for the next 20-30
appointments whit some nice text-formatting and columns in my right
order, so if anyone has this configured allready I'd love a peak at
that .conkyrc 

I just decided to go with a more CLI, less GUI approach, so most of
these things are new to me although I've used some flavor of
linux-desktop for over 10 years - don't know how I avoided earning CLI
stuff in this time ;))
