I see a lot of irony in this situation.
AA, implemented in XFree86 (as an extension), gets publicity out of 
closed-source project.

I can't answer your question about problem you faced, but have more general 
question to the list:
 * should be answer questions (and offer support) about closed-source 
software?  *
I have opinion on that, and would happy to share it with you.
What would be your thoughts?..
