I use them as a 10 meter and 6 meter repeater. No problems. Just use cooling
fans and your done. If the Tx goes just swwap the radios and the module and
your on the air again.

The SRA series Syntors will make excellent repeaters.
I have had 3 on the air for about 4 years, with no failures of any kind.
They just require one drawer unit for transmit and one drawer unit for
receive.

The mid split (150-162) will slide to 2 meters with minimal tuning.

Check out K7IC's (Mike Blenderman) site at
http://www.open.org/~blenderm/syntorx/legacy.html

He has it outlined step by step on how to set up a Syntor into a repeater

E-mail me direct if you need further info on programming or converting one.
