I use an IFR/Marconi comms test set linked to
a Lindos LA101/102.
The results of the sweep are put into a live windows
page so you can add components on the fly.
Each sweep has an initial FFSK ident so that long delay
links can be swept eg echolink.
My experience is that if you dont automate the process
of audio sweep the other things you need to be wary of
eg compressor/clipper settings, system peak deviation, distortion, ident
muting,CTCSS deviation,  conspire to make the tesing frustrating and
sometimes impossible.
