<< http://www.repeater-builder.com/rbtip/cracking.html >> Kevin, I read your and WA6ILQ suggestions on crackling problems. Seems we have been through many of them. My antenna is in a very high RF 45 kW FM broadcast field created by two FM stations only 5 feet away from my antenna. A few years ago we were able to take the SuperStationMaster down and one of the interconnecting joints was ready to break. A touch of the finger finished the job. We replaced the section and silver soldered it and all the others. We also installed a support post on top to prevent it from moving. Its hard to test anything because access to the high intensity RF field area at the 850 foot level is not allowed. Have a brand new antenna waiting months to be installed as an add on job when some riggers are able to go up the tower. Glad to hear I was on the correct troubleshooting path. Complete repeater and duplexer have been swapped out. Thanks guys for your suggestions. Gary K2UQ Yahoo!
