See my earlier post on the 1/4" Hardline, same applies for the 3/8. I did
forget to mention that you had to use an insert for the 1/4" and no insert
for the 3/8".  On the 3/8" it is a bit tight, all I did was take a drill bit
and ream the whole just slightly and it worked fine.  Been that was for two
years and no problems.  Just as they said, use a good aphonal connector,
they cost a few bucks each, but worth it in the long run.
