Hi Skipp,
Thanks for your reply. At the moment we had to return to Caracas and
left the system operating with just one traffic channel, plus the
control channel. The customer said that at the moment usage will be
very light, and only a single user group will be active. So not much
operational impact for the moment, and since the system coverage is
much more than the customer anticipated, at least in that respect they
are very happy.
We are planning to return in 2-3 weeks time, which we already had to
do in order to bring the tower ground system up to snuff, as the
present one is not so good. This tower was formerly in use by the
cellular company, but has not been used for a few years now, and was
basically abandoned by them. Since it is located inside our customer's
property he indicated that he wanted us to use it, if viable.
Preliminary observations indicated that the structure is in good
shape, only the grounding system requires attention.
Now that I've had some time to go through in my mind all the tests
that we've done and the many good suggestions and information
received, I've come up with a few possible strategies which I wanted
to present to the persons that where kind enough to lend their help,
so as to get some more opinions on which would be the most viable path
to follow for a solution. In the next few hours I am going to compose
a message that I will post on the group, so other readers can also
benefit from whatever solution comes up, and also email a copy to
other persons that are contributing towards hopefully finding the most
appropriate solution. So far I am quite confident that the IM products
are being generated in the RX path, probably even right in each
receiver, but I will elaborate on my conclusions a bit later when I
post said message.
Thanks again for all your help. It is always very comforting to have
knowledgeable people lend a hand in these cases where one is stranded
in the middle of nowhere, and with this kind of problems.
Also many thanks to everyone else that chipped in with suggestions and
information. Be assured that I've read your messages and I will try to
get back to all of you individually and reply to your postings -in the
next few hours as time permits. I just don't wanted to send you a
quick reply, but rather answer every posting in depth.
