Kevin and all…

I will check further into this issue – rest assured.  And will report back with what I find, even if that indicates I was in error.  (Which, given the amount of replies I’ve had, is quite likely…)  I want to find the chassis I looked at before and also query my “source” regarding his information.

I like to know what I’m talking about and not go off half-cocked – which I apparently did this time…  So actually, I do have reason to run off, as you put it.  J  Call it self-imposed.  Reason: Issues like this tend to discredit any future information I may have to offer, simply because others will remember this instance.

Again my apologies to everyone on the list.  I will verify any information I post before doing do in the future, or at least attempt to “qualify” it better.

OK - sorry!

No one is ripping on you, so no need to run in the corner with your tail between you legs.

I guess I should have both: 1- looked closer at what I was seeing and 2) not
responded with information I personally hadn't corroborated.

I don't think it *is* either, but rather the way your information was originally presented in respect to both.
If you are unsure, consider using *might* or *I thought*.
When I read your post, I see no uncertainty.  The lack of doubt on your part is what caught the eyes of the Motorola Gurus.

Well, the last VHF Micor I looked at had the preselector in a different location...

I truly stand corrected...  But I *thought* I saw the preselector in a different location.

I wrote the above without remembering the *I thought*, so I see you are learning.  The trouble with email is things are expressed differently than when you are talking in person.  It's easier to write "I seen...."  then it is to write "I thought I seen...."

If you did indeed see this configuration, I for one would like to know about it.  The Micor is one of my favoritist radios...
