Paul: Out here in southern CA, our emergency group uses a couple of portable 70 cm rptrs made from handheld radios, a small, cheap controller and mobile duplexer.
Our repeater bands are full, but the local folks are generally very cooperative when the hams are providing emergency comms. 73, Dick ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul Yonge" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com> Sent: 07 May, 2006 22:20 Subject: [Repeater-Builder] Portable Repeaters > I've not been too successful in convincing the various Upstate New > York Amateur Radio Associations that simplex repeaters are the answer > for providing portable repeaters in critical incident response > situations.
