I've never encountered a stuck core, but if I did, I'd be tempted to hit a 
Q-Tip with some WD-40 and then run the Q-Tip down the coil, give it a push 
and a spin, then give the core a try the next day.

But, hey, I use Outlook Express, so what the heck do I know ;-) You don't 
suppose the core caught a virus do you?
