Hmm, maybe it's just syntax, but a simplex repeater uses ONE frequency (i.e.simplex) as opposed a duplex repeater using two frequencies. A simplex repeater MUST store and forward (record) since it is self defeating to transmit and receive on the same frequency at the same time from the same location.
Since you say you are using two radios, I can only assume you want to receive and transmit at the same time on two different frequencies, thus a duplex repeater. You can quite easily do this with two radios and a small 'controller' such as the hamtronics products.
