I just got a quote today for $1360.00 to climb a monopole. This is $85.00 per hour for an 8 hour day for two climbers. The tower crew is a 2.5 hour drive away and they would charge us for the full day as we would kill the day for them.
If they were in the area (which they often are) and are doing work for another client, they would charge us for one way travel and the other client for one way travel plus the hourly rate for the work done. It does not seem to make a difference to them as to how high they have to climb.
