Anyone have a recommendation about a mobile radio to use as a building block for repeater systems? I'd be looking at UHF, wanting to cover 430-450, and want something that can serve as a good tight receiver, exciter, or low power link transmitter. The idea is that if there is something cost effective enough, it could be used as a building block for a whole system (main repeater, remote receivers, link transmitters, etc.). Something synthesized, modern, and relatively inexpensive?
