Here is my setup:

UHF Vertex VXR7000 in / out port A
VHF Vertex VXR7000 in / out port B

FF800 controller

both repeaters are wired identical, and are using carrier sense and PL
Detecct (active Low) to key up the controller.

I have situation where after a user unkeys, I get a chopping burst for
anywhere from 50 to 750 milliseconds, even when 510-06 timer is set as
low as 10ms before the courtesy tone.

Machine State 1 is UHF and VHF combined
Machine State 2 is UHF Only
Machine State 3 is VHF only

This problem exists when it is in states 1 and 3,
when in state 2 (UHF only) it works like a champ, no problems what so
ever.
When in 1 and 3 though it does the insane chopping bit between key off
and courtesy tone. and when it does this its happening on the VHF side
(I can tell because of the following courtesy tone)

Swap cables it does the same, here is the kicker, if I switch ports,
the VHF will be chopping in and out during the entire transmission
because the radio on port A has priority. So I am fairly convinced it
is a problem with the VHF repeater. But the controller at the same
time should not be passing audio from the VHF if it is not detecting
COS and PL on that port...

Very aggravating at the least.

Thanks for any input.
