I'd tend to think it might be a little better, less oxidation of the braid and foil, and less movement. I only buy the direct burial (DB) version of LMR400 anyway, it's only a few pennies more per foot, I figure it's worth the little extra protection if it gets a nick in the jacket. And, of course, I never use it for repeater-related purposes...
