I think the first "A" is actually an "8", or it might be a "7".  Here's how
your Combination Number breaks down:

E = Extended Package
X = 12 VDC operation
6 = 41-80 watts
5 = 25 kHz channels
K = 8 frequency capacity
E = Equipped for 3 TX and 3 RX channels
U = Channel Guard equipped
88 = 450-470 MHz (or 78 = 420-450 MHz)
A = .0005% oscillator stability
