Hello Denis, Thank you for your response; it was very detailed and informative. The N1 that I have is running Android 2.3.6. I am not sure whether or not it is official stock Android. Is there a way of finding that out? Also, do you recommend installing another Android distribution that might be more freedom-respecting, or is it just better to avoid using the phone given the various issues you mentioned about it in your response?
On another note, I have a Note 2 on which I installed Replicant. Unfortunately, the SIM card is not recognised. I installed every single build of Replicant that is supported by the device, but none of them recognised the card. I cannot install LineageOS, as the model of my device, t03g, is not supported by it. I changed the permissions, which were wrong, to those mentioned here: https://redmine.replicant.us/issues/1800#note-6, but that did not fix the issue. I also have the same line in my radio log as in this post: https://redmine.replicant.us/issues/1783#note-19. There are other people who are experiencing similar problems for quite some time now. Is there any fix on the way? Isocrates
