Hi. This is Amuza. And this is my proposal to act as the Replicant project community manager.
Seven years ago I understood what Software Freedom was. So I managed to get a Libreboot X60 laptop and installed the FSDG-compliant distro that I still use. Then I bought a GT-I9300 and installed Replicant. I think it was Paul Kocialkowiski the one who helped me with my first installations. Since that moment on (maybe 6 or 5 years ago) I have had several devices (GT-I9300 and GT-N7100) and Replicant has been my only phone, always with the Replicant sticker on its back :) I started to learn and interact with other projects like Trisquel, LibreMesh, Retroshare, Bitmessage (not anymore), Tor, Freedombone and many others. And started to attend local and international congresses too, like CCC and FOSDEM. Besides learning, I began to help other people and give some talks on Free Software and Privacy. I co-founded Hackea[0], a collective to provide Free and Decentralized emancipating technologies to the people. One of those technologies is Replicant[1][2]. I also created Malla Veïnal[3], a wireless community mesh network we are deploying in a district where poverty is a common reality and Internet can now be shared among neighbors. We use old second hand wireless routers with customized Libremesh firmware [4] I configured. I am active in the mailing list of the Libremesh project.[5] But these years had their dark side too. I worked for several international organizations -like United Nations- where I was fully surrounded by evil technologies. My main task there was ICT user support. Fortunately, things started to change. From August 2019 to October 2020 I worked part-time as a remote Network Engineer for VyOS [6], a GNU+Linux network operating system (unfortunately non-FSDG-compliant). I did documentation, user support, bug reporting and constant communication with the developers. Part of my work is publicly accessible.[7][8][9] An extended CV with references can be provided if required, but privately. I must say that I am not a developer. I cannot write code and I don't understand Replicant now as deep as a Replicant developer does. But I am very willing to do so. I think I can perform every task described in the call, I have experience with most of them, but never in such a nice project. I believe I fit the profile. If there is interest, I am open to questions here, or at IRC if we agree the time. Sorry, I think I used much more than 300 words. Cheers!
