**Position: Storage Area Network (SAN) Analyst
Duration: 12+ months
Location: Bloomington, IL
Rate: $40/hr

*Task Descriptions:*

The position is for a SAN analyst who will be responsible for administrating
Storage Area Networks in an enterprise environment, including all the
necessary logical and physical steps to perform storage allocations for
hosts (Windows, HP-UX, AIX).  Additional responsibilities will include
troubleshooting SAN related problems, switch administrating and disk array
administration.

The candidate must possess the following:

    - Extensive knowledge of the Window’s operating system
      - Extensive knowledge of the HP-UX operating system
      - Ability to communicate technical material effectively
      - Ability to work in a team environment
      - Ability to train others on SAN technology
      - Extensive knowledge of administrating HDS disk array subsystem
      - Extensive knowledge of administrating HP disk array subsystem
      - Extensive knowledge of administrating Brocade fiber optic switches
      - Excellent written communication

*SAN Analyst Job Description*

*General*

SAN (Storage Area Network) analysts regularly consult on projects and
service efforts  assisting in providing solutions for the storing,
management, backup and recovery of data.  Additionally analysts are
responsible for determining storage needs, architecting, designing,
installing and supporting SAN solutions.  They are also responsible for
providing communication, training and presentations to other areas
throughout the enterprise on the storage solutions provided by Enterprise
Storage to meet availability and service requirements and researching and
evaluating new SAN technology.

*Specific Skills Set Needed*

A working knowledge of each of the OS platforms attached to the SAN
(Windows, Unix, AIX & MPE) at a administrator level.  The individual also
needs to be an SME on all software packages utilized by vendors in
supporting the environment such as replication software (hardware &
software), OS driver installation, multi-pathing software etc.

 Detail knowledge on the installation, configuration and problem solving of
fiber optic switches hardware and software as well as large system disk
arrays hardware and their associated software.

State Farm Specific Skills that the selected individual will need additional
training on:

 Knowledge of the State Farm problem management and escalation process

 Knowledge of State Farm’s hardware and software acquisition process

 Knowledge of State Farm’s hardware installation process for all facilities
(Corp, ISC,& OC)

 Knowledge of State Farm’s project
