Title: SAS Analyst / Developer

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Duration: 6+ months



Client: CSC



Skills: A high degree of technical and business experience with SAS
Financial Management (a specific SAS tool) is required. A medium+ level of
experience with SAS Forecast Studio (IT Analyst or Modeling) is preferred.
Here is a deeper write-up, one that looks at the work in front of us. I
would like to understand how you would include this work in a revised
posting.


SAS Financial Management (FM)

Summary:
The tool is implemented across all business units but we do need ongoing
support (analysis and development).
Tools and general capabilities:
SAS Financial Management Studio experience
- Add/edit/delete Cycles, Models, Dimensions, Forms (use of complex
formulas in accounts)
- Read and write SAS code/SAS data sets (stored procedures)
- Able to understand the way to use the software to move data around
- Able to troubleshoot form issues (data not showing up, error messages
from SAS addin or SAS FM addin)
- Ability to leverage the SAS FM API to build custom allocation to replace
SAS FM allocation logic
SAS Management Console experience
SAS Data Integration Studio experience

Upcoming development
Break/fix
Support our current implementation (tables, formulas, loads, allocations,
etc)
Strategic Plan
Build strategic plan forms, seed data, build allocations & extract
SAS Upgrade (tentative – based on other company’s experiences)
Upgrade the SAS suite to provide monthly period rollover automation
LOB Restatements (tentative)
Annual process to shift work according to organizational changes.
Organizational changes will require moving SAS FM History and Forecast data
within SAS FM models or between SAS FM models depending on the complexity
of the organizational change
Batch Allocation Process
New Job that can execute existing custom allocations for people who have
forgotten to do so
Extract Changes
Add new columns to prepare for BOBJ universe, increase data quality
Carload Accrual Accounts
Create accounts to store car accruals for all BU’s (except IN)


SAS Forecast Studio (Analytical Modeling)
Summary:
We have used SAS for the first business unit and now we want to build
analytical models for the remaining business units.

Tools and general capabilities:
SAS Forecast Studio tool experience, including business centric knowledge
(familiar with economic indicators and we would prefer logistics industry
experience)

Upcoming development
Break/fix
Support our current implementation for the chemical group (not much work
now)
The remaining business units
Pending strategic decision around our future direction
