Title: Network Engineer Location: Richmond, VA Length: 1-2 Years Rate: $40/hr on C2C Application Production Support (level 2) candidate with solid experience in Unix, SQL, Network related projects for a Richmond, VA based contract opportunity. This technical support role is designed to support both the technical and communication relationship between the business and the IT partners. This role is highly relational in nature requiring daily interactions with the business, IT partners, and the customer and it includes heavy project involvement and interaction with scrum masters, agile practitioners, project managers, developers, and analysts. The candidate must be able to understand and follow specific incident call procedures under time constraints, leading calls to drive to resolution and repair of production incidents interacting with all technology groups as needed. Specific job requirements include: • Demonstrating and actively seeking to gain a solid understanding of the business and the technical systems that support the business • Active involvement in projects and project roll-outs • Representation of platform performance and capacity planning to the business and other IT partners • Coordinating system work with on and off shores partners to ensure sustainability of production systems Tools/ Required for consideration: Proficient UNIX skills, no scripting necessary. Understand three tier MS SQL applications. Understand networked applications. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Batch processing management and troubleshooting experience needed. Managing multiple priorities under pressure. **Some flexibility with schedule (after 5 pm or on call work ) may be required at times.
