Good question. I'm considering asking APS for an exchange or a
refund. I've messed up at least 13 blanks and endless hours of time
trying to make it work before Eric tipped me off as to what is wrong.

What finally does the job is to disconnect all SCSI devices, which is
useless because an external SCSI hd is one of the things to be backed
up, and all unnecessary extensions, which include AppleShare and
FileSharing, which is also useless because another thing to be backed
up is my PB to the burner attached to my beige G3/300 desktop.

It's also impractical to do that because it's so much trouble that
human nature kicks in -- anything which is that big a bother will be
neglected. Sounds like somebody's law, doesn't it ;-)

Matthew, you're exactly right. My G3/300 beige is certainly not a
slow machine. Last desperate attempt to make it work properly will be
to hook the burner to my Wallstreet 300 and see if it will work that
way. Although this is NOT the way I wanted to do it!

Have you all heard any response from Yamaha about the problem?
Perhaps if enough of us started demanding replacements or refunds
from the places we bought them, that would get their attention?
