Just as a follow-up, though this may help you back up to disk images (which
can then be burned to CD-R/Ws; for all your trouble you might as well just
buy a Retrospect-supported one since 4.3 added support for quite a few new
ones), "hacking" Retrospect in any way is completely unsupported. Technical
support cannot help you if you have altered your copy of Retrospect with
ResEdit.
