I think we are having plenty of troubles releasing 3.5. We should try to avoid that for future releases. I think it's a good thing we should probably pay attention to the periodic CI failures on "old" branches more going forward yes. I think this was especially bad because of the combination of upstream infra issues (PPA breakage) non-pinned language version (R is floating unlike Python Scala and Java).
