Review Comment:
These flags (and the shutdown hook that read them) are gone. There's no
second thread involved anymore, so there's no stale-flag race to guard against.
Pod creation, pre-resource creation, and gate removal now happen
sequentially on the same thread that's already running `run()`:
- Pre-resource creation sets owner references before the call (see [the
owner-reference reply
above](https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/58187#discussion_r4129910475)), so
there's no "already applied item stays ownerless" case to begin with.
- Each step's own `catch` block cleans up exactly what's known to exist at
that point: the pod alone if pre-resource creation fails, both the pod and
pre-resources if gate removal fails.
- Cleanup goes through `deletePodAndPreResources`, which deletes every item
independently via `Utils.tryLogNonFatalError`. One item failing to delete
doesn't stop the rest.
A SIGINT/SIGTERM while `serverSideApply()` is in flight no longer risks
leaving credentials ownerless forever either. At worst it leaves a
scheduling-gated pod behind (harmless, see [the finally/shutdown-hook reply
above](https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/58187#discussion_r4129910495)),
since the pod — the only thing that could reference those pre-resources — is
itself unschedulable until the gate is removed.
