Github user yhuai commented on the pull request: https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/10731#issuecomment-198009418 One question, if I have ``` table1: a: int, b: int, c: int SELECT b, c FROM table1 ORDER BY 1, 2 ``` what are columns used in ORDER BY? I guess `b, c`, right? For GROUP BY, I feel it is not always obvious what are columns referred by the positions (I mean not as obvious as ORDER BY). What do you think?
