    If we were to use a matrix for the output, then when we do 
`approxSimilarityJoin` we would want to explode the output column by matrix 
rows, assuming the matrix structure was:
    
    ````
    | ---g1(x)---- |
    | ---g2(x)---- |
    |     ...      |
    | ---gL(x)---- |
    ````
    
    This is probably possible, but might be a bit awkward? `Array[Vector]` 
might make it a bit easier.
