Github user WangTaoTheTonic commented on the issue: https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/15803 @srowen Before the code changes, browser get date string from server side, now instead it get Date(this conclusion comes from codes debugging(https://github.com/apache/spark/blob/master/core/src/main/scala/org/apache/spark/status/api/v1/ApiRootResource.scala#L46), I'm not sure personally, please correct me if I'm wrong), and parse its string format(`hacks a date string to drop seconds and timezone`).
