Github user mengxr commented on the issue: https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/21898 @jiangxb1987 Seems the SparkSubmit tests are failing deterministically. Usually this is caused by previous tests not cleaning up states/context. I saw many messages in the jenkins log after the barrier suite: ~~~ 15:57:43.771 ERROR org.apache.spark.rpc.netty.Inbox: Ignoring error java.lang.IllegalStateException: LiveListenerBus is stopped. at org.apache.spark.scheduler.LiveListenerBus.addToQueue(LiveListenerBus.scala:97) at org.apache.spark.scheduler.LiveListenerBus.addToStatusQueue(LiveListenerBus.scala:80) at org.apache.spark.BarrierCoordinator.onStart(BarrierCoordinator.scala:68) at org.apache.spark.rpc.netty.Inbox$$anonfun$process$1.apply$mcV$sp(Inbox.scala:122) at org.apache.spark.rpc.netty.Inbox.safelyCall(Inbox.scala:205) at org.apache.spark.rpc.netty.Inbox.process(Inbox.scala:101) at org.apache.spark.rpc.netty.Dispatcher$MessageLoop.run(Dispatcher.scala:221) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor.runWorker(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:1142) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:617) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:745) ~~~ You should take a look at them.
